Heritage Chorale and MutualOne encourage young singers

Southborough – As part of its Youth Outreach Program, the Heritage Chorale is inviting up to 50 Southborough students from grades 4-8 to experience a live chorale performance for free, in an effort to encourage children to participate in school choral groups.

The chorale is offering a free child’s ticket with the purchase of an adult ticket to its Sunday, Dec. 14, Christmas Concert, to be held at St. Mark’s School, 25 Marlborough Road, Southborough, at 4 p.m. These tickets must be reserved in advance.

The 90-member chorale will be performing with the Gainsborough Brass Ensemble, bringing music from the Renaissance through today, with well-loved Christmas music such as “Carol of the Bells,” “The Wassail Song,” and “Christmas Day” as well as sing-a-longs of familiar carols.

Any parent interested in reserving a free child ticket should contact the group at [email protected] for instructions (Subject line “Free for Child.”) This concert is not appropriate for children younger than 8.

In an effort to keep parking at St. Mark’s for senior citizens and others with mobility difficulties, the group will use grant money from MutualOne Bank to provide a shuttle bus every 15 minutes from the Woodward School parking lot, 28 Cordaville Road, starting at 2:15 p.m., and return trips after the concert. More concert information is available at HeritageChorale.org or by calling 508-270-3999.
