Marlborough – Weather cooperated for the first time in recent years when residents gathered Dec. 5 at Union Common for the annual Home for the Holidays.
Guests were greeted with free balloons, popcorn and hot chocolate. Shannon McNulty directed the Marlborough High School (MHS) Mixed Chorus, singing seasonal songs. Children got the chance to pet live barn animals.
Santa Claus arrived on the city’s Ladder 1 fire truck, then distributed candy canes and posed with kids for photos. The park became brighter and more colorful when Mayor Arthur Vigeant lit the holiday tree. Festivities continued with performances by the MHS Jazz and String ensembles inside the nearby First Church in Marlborough.
