Marlborough – Francis H. “Frank” Hill, 79, of Marlborough, formerly of Waltham, died at his home Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Waltham, he was the son of the late Patrick F. and Gertrude (Tierney) Hill and the husband of Beverly (Hornbeck) Hill, to whom he was married for the past 56 years.
Frank was employed by the Laddawn Plastics Packaging Co. as a sales representative. He retired in 2008.
Besides his wife, Beverly, he is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Hill and his wife Cheryl, their children, Scott and Stephanie, of Marlborough, Keith Hill and his wife Stephanie, their children, Bryce and Luke, of Natick, and his daughters, Kimberly Coletti and her husband Paul, their daughters, Marissa and Leah, of Marlborough and Kelley Burg and her husband Christopher of Townsend.
Frank will be remembered as an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. He had a unique sense of humor that made everyone laugh, and he got a kick out of making everyone laugh just the same.
He enjoyed the frequent visits from all of his family, as well as special gatherings and celebrating at the holidays. Some of his hobbies included watching the Patriots every Sunday, making several trips to Mohegan Sun with Bev and friends, participating in a weekly bowling league, and cooking on the grill. He also enjoyed getting together with friends for lunch and card games.
Papa Frank will be dearly missed by his entire family, but his spirit will live on through all of the happy stories and memories they have of him.
There will be no visiting hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Dec. 12, at 10 a.m., at St. Matthias Church, 409 Hemenway St., Marlborough. Private burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the Slattery Funeral Home of Marlborough.
