Southborough – Southborough Access Media, or S.A.M., the local cable station, was recently awarded a grant from the Southborough Community Fund, a fund of the Foundation for Metrowest, to help support a video project focusing on local veterans.

The project, titled “Southborough Veterans: Lessons in Local Life and Paying it Forward,” captures interviews with local veterans, discussing their training in the military and how they have brought those leadership skills back to the community. The veterans, including men and women, have served in past and current wars, conflicts and battles.

Opportunities include local events, working and volunteering for local leadership or representative opportunities. Numerous veterans will be interviewed and their experiences will be put together on video, to be shared with the community on S.A.M. It will also be distributed to schools and organizations, as requested. This is the first project of its kind, in this scope and scale for S.A.M.

Any interested veterans who would like to contribute may reach out to Katelyn Willis or Terry Newman at S.A.M., 42 Central St., 508-485-8156, [email protected].
