Shrewsbury – Viola M. (Glover) Hebert, 88, a longtime Shrewsbury resident, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 in Beaumont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Worcester.

She leaves her husband, Joseph E. Hebert; two daughters, Linda T. Cummings and her husband Edward of Amherst, N.H. and Sandra E. Larivee and her husband James of Auburn; two grandchildren, Kristine L. Cummings of Amherst, N.H. and E. Scott Cummings and his wife Theresa of Mansfield; two great-grandchildren, Connor J. and Makayla K. Cummings of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Viola was born in Upton, daughter of the late Raymond and Bertha (Stratton) Glover. She attended high school and then met and married Joe, who would be her husband and best friend for the next 66 years.

Viola was a very simple and gracious lady; family meant everything to her. Some of her most precious moments were spent with her daughters and grandchildren and watching their many accomplishments. She also enjoyed knitting, playing bingo, camping with the family, and watching the Red Sox.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Viola’s family Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 10-11 a.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St. A service honoring her life will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
