Notable Stats: Eight goals and four assists this past season
What are your earliest soccer-related memories?
“I moved to Shrewsbury from Italy in May of 2008, and I remember my dad signing me up for soccer. I was apprehensive about having to go to practice because I was new to the sport, and new to the country. I quickly learned to love the sport. Before I knew it, soccer had become my passion.”
Who encouraged you to succeed at soccer?
“My dad is definitely the person who comes to mind. He calls himself ‘my trainer, manager and chauffeur.’ My dad has only missed two games in my entire soccer career, and loves the game as much as I do. He has always been the one giving me constructive criticism and encouragement. He continues to be a major influence on the person I am on and off the field.”
What was your first year playing for SHS like?
“My first year was a great experience. I achieved one of my goals by making varsity as a freshman, which allowed me to grow as a player. It was an adjustment having to play with older and bigger girls, but with coaching, and the help of teammates, it was a successful year for me.”
What was this past season like?
“This past season was interesting. As a team, we did not achieve many of our goals. It was a challenging year between injuries and losing close games, but as a team, we gave it our all. However, this year brought our team closer than it has ever been before, and I am most thankful for the long-lasting relationships that have been formed. I am also very honored to have been selected as one of the two captains for next season. I plan on taking this season as a learning experience moving forward.”
What has been the single most special game of your soccer career?
“The most special game of my high school career was the first game of my freshman year. I started the game, which was unexpected. It was exciting to hear my name called for the starting lineup, and I knew that if I wanted to continue to start, I would have to work hard. That’s exactly what I have done.”
What would you consider to be the best part of your game?
“The best part of my game on the field is my quickness in pace. Quickness in both in running the field and decision-making.”
What is your favorite class in school?
“My favorite class in school is chemistry because I enjoy learning about the power of single elements reacting together to create new substances. Chemistry is both exciting and challenging.”
What are your hobbies outside of soccer?
“My hobbies include running, traveling and riding my four-wheeler.”
What is your favorite type of music and artist in that genre?
“My favorite music artist is Taylor Swift because her songs are relatable and fun to sing along to in the car.”
Have you given any consideration to colleges, and would you like to play soccer at that level?
“I have been in contact with several colleges, but do not have my heart set on one yet. I am planning on playing soccer in college, and will be happy with any school that challenges me both in the classroom and on the field.”
