Hudson – The town of Hudson recently received the Outstanding Planning Award for its new Master Plan. The award, presented by the Massachusetts chapter of the American Planning Association, recognizes a plan, program or process of unusually high merit from a municipality with a population under 50,000. The association judges a plan on five criteria: innovation, quality, transferability, implementation and comprehensiveness.
A 22-person Steering Committee made up of members of various town boards, commissions, committees and departments, worked on the project over a 2-1/2 year time period. Members of the public were also invited to share their thoughts at five topic-related public forums as well as kick-off and draft release forums. The final plan was adopted by the Planning Board in November 2014.
Summary reports, handouts, power point presentations and videos can be viewed on the town’s website, http://www.townofhudson.org/Public_Documents/index.
