Westborough – Richard E. McKenzie, 87, of Westborough, formerly of Winchester, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 at home. He was the husband of the late Marjorie (Jenkins) McKenzie.
Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., he was the son of the late Harry and Lillian (Disney) McKenzie. He was a graduate of Brookline High School and of Northeastern University.
Richard was employed as an electrical engineer for New England Power Service Company for over 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Arlington and enjoyed the opera.
He is survived by his four children, Patricia L. Murphy and her husband Jack of Southborough, Donald F. McKenzie of Goose Creek, S.C., Douglas E. McKenzie and his wife Patricia of Groton, and Neil A. McKenzie and his wife Linda of Kissimmee, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Richard S. McKenzie.
A private funeral service will be held in the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester.
