Northborough – The Northborough Historical Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the demolition permit for White Cliffs, 187 Main St., Thursday, Feb. 12, at 7:15 p.m. at the Robert E. Melican Middle School Teaching Center, 1st Floor, 145 Lincoln St.
The issuance of a demolition permit by the town of Northborough requires a review by the Historical Commission when the property is older than 100 years. Per the town demolition bylaw, the commission must hold a public hearing within 30 days of notification of a demolition permit application regarding properties older than 100 years (section 2-36-030).
The purpose of this public hearing is to collect additional historical and architectural information regarding the property. This information will be used by the Historical Commission to determine if the 180-day demolition delay should be continued for this property.
The public hearing agenda is as follows:
- * Explanation of the Demolition Delay Bylaw;
- * Review of the meeting purpose;
- *Review of the material currently available; and
- *Public input regarding historical & architectural information on the property.
