Marlborough – Marguerite J. (Bedard) Ballard, 82, of Marlborough, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Hudson, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Laura (Beausoleil) Bedard and the wife of the late Armand W.Ballard who died in 2000.

She attended Saint Anthony Parochial School and graduated from St. Anne’s Academy, Marlborough in 1950. She was involved with her High School Conventum, a yearly gathering of graduates and former students of St. Anne’s, as well as renewing and continuing old friendships with her former classmates from 1950, twice a year, at the Best Western in Marlborough.

She will be missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, music, pottery, painting, working in her garden and was involved in her family genealogy.

A member of St. Bernadette Parish, Northborough, she had been a member of the former St. Ann Parish, Marlborough. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary # 132, Marlborough and the Loyal Order of Moose #657, Marlborough.

She is survived by her son, Richard Ballard and his wife Lisa of Meriden, Conn.; her granddaughters, Kristen Ballard of Milford and Caryn Hebert of Blackstone; and her great-grandchildren, Reese, Bryn, Evan, Ben, and Alex. She is also survived by her brothers, Emile Bedard of Moody, Maine, Armand Bedard of Cumberland, R.I., and Albert Bedard of Ocala, Fla.; her sisters, Therese Boulay of Marlborough and Lucille Cross of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Clarence Bedard.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, Feb. 6, from 4-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernadette Church, 266 Main St. (Route 20), Northborough. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough.
