Shrewsbury – One hundred-year-old citizenship papers, wedding photos of Italian great-great grandparents, children’s knickers from Germany and Swedish bread recipes! These were some of the items that could be seen at the recent Spring Street School Fourth Graders Family Traditions and Artifacts Museum.
Students have been studying about immigration and what contributions immigrants from a variety of countries have brought to America through the years. They learned more about their own heritage and recently proudly shared this information and artifacts with other students, staff, families and community members.
“The event was a big success! What a great way for the students to learn and share their family history. The kids were so proud of their artifacts,” fourth grade parent Melissa Bentley said.
