    Westborough – Peter N. Sabatini, 84, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Carmel J. (Nigro) Sabatini.

    Born in Abruzzi, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Santina (D’Olimpio) Sabatini and was educated in Italy.

    Peter came to the United States in 1950 settling in Patterson, NJ. He worked as a diesel mechanic in New Jersey and then moved to Worcester. He opened and operated Sabatini’s Diesel Repair in Worcester and later moved to Los Angeles and worked for Los Angeles Mack Truck.

    In the early 1960s he opened and operated the Italian Pizzeria in Goleta, Calif. for 15 years. He and his family moved to Westborough in 1978 and opened Sabatini’s Restaurant in Westborough in 1979.

    In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Anthony Sabatini and his longtime companion, Karen and her son Fernando of Grafton and Peter Sabatini of Northbridge; two brothers, Joseph Sabatini and Dario Sabatini.

    He was the brother of the late Ada Orlando.

    A private graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough. There are no calling hours.

    In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the

    American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 or at www.diabetes.org.

    Funeral arrangements are under the direction of David A. Pickering, Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
