Marlborough – The number 1 seeded Marlborough High School Panthers boys basketball team easily defeated the number 8 seed Medfield Warriors by a score of 68-47 in a Central Mass. Division 2 quarter final playoff game, Feb. 27.
The Panthers jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, taking a comfortable 34-20 lead into halftime. Freshman Chris Doherty was the game’s top scorer with 23 points. Owen Cappadona scored 15 and Joe Tirpak contributed 12 points for the Panthers. Chris McGrory was Medfield’s top scorer with 13 points.
The Panthers finished the regular season with a 17-3 record. With the win over Medfield, they move on to play Hopkinton in the division semi-finals on March 2.
