Grafton/BVT hockey falls to Worcester in playoffs

    The Grafton/BVT Indians and Worcester Wildcats faced off in a quarter-final playoff game at Buffone Skating Arena.
    The Grafton/BVT Indians and Worcester Wildcats faced off in a quarter-final playoff game at Buffone Skating Arena.

    Worcester – The seventh-seed Grafton/BVT Indians boys ice hockey team fell to the second-seed Worcester Wildcats by a score of 5-1 in the quarter final round of Central Division 3A playoffs. The game was played Feb. 28 at Buffone Skating Arena in Worcester.

    The Grafton/BVT Indians are a co-op team consisting of players from Grafton High School and Blackstone Valley Regional Technical High School in Upton. The Worcester Wildcats are comprised of players from all of Worcester’s public high schools plus Leicester High School.

    Worcester worked its way to a 4-0 lead before Kevin Koloski scored Grafton/BVT’s lone goal in the final minute of the second period. James Moran and Matthew David assisted on the goal. Goalie Vishall Bajwa had 28 saves in net for Grafton/BVT.

    Grafton/BVT finished their season with a 10-10-1 record, while Worcester moves on to play Fitchburg in the semi-final round March 4.
