Region – The nonprofit organization In Your Shoes (IYS) will be hosting a Casino Night, Saturday, March 21, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 17 Willow St., from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door. Those purchasing a ticket will then receive “$25,000” in chips so that they may play games such as blackjack, poker and roulette. Light refreshments will be available and there will be a cash bar.

In Your Shoes is a “giving circle,” whose members contribute time, talents and monetary resources to those in the Westborough community who are in need.

According to member Marjet Schoen, IYS designates a recipient for the proceeds from each annual fundraiser it holds. In past years, the group has donated funds to the Westborough Police Department, Westborough Fire Department and Westborough Food Pantry, among others.

“For this event, we decided to help veterans, whether they live in town or work here,” she said.

IYS currently has about 15 members and is always seeking others who would like to join them, Schoen noted.

There are two ways to join IYS. To become a voting member, make a $50 contribution, which you can bring to a meeting, or mail a check to In Your Shoes, P.O. Box 19, Westborough, MA 01581.

To become a service member, attend meetings or check “Meeting Minutes” on the group’s website (www.inyourshoeswestborough.com) to see how you might volunteer your time and talents.

IYS also has a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/pages/In-Your-Shoes-Westborough/301414619912349?sk=wall.

For more information or to purchase tickets for the Casino Night, call Schoen at 508-836-4038.
