Anaheim, Calif. – Richard W. Beddie, 73 of Anaheim, Calif., and former longtime resident of Hudson, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015. He was surrounded with the comfort and love of his family. God’s grace allowed for a gentle passing.

Richard was born in Burlington, Vt., son of the late William and Louise (Barbin) Beddie. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools and was a 1959 graduate of Hudson High School. He worked as a laminator for many years locally for several companies including Atkins and Merrill of Marlborough. After residing in Hudson for many years, Richard chose to move to Orange County, Calif. where he could be closer to his family.

Richard enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching sports in his spare time. He also hardly ever missed the television program Jeopardy. The fond memories of Richard and his quick wit will never be forgotten.

He is survived by his children, Dana M. Beddie and his wife Debra, Darlyne Lucchesi of Seal Beach, Donna Rogan and her husband Jim, and Richard K.Beddie and his wife Karen, all of Southern California. He is also survived by his two brothers, William Beddie and his wife Cynthia of Newfields, N.H. and Philip Beddie and his wife Patricia of Worcester; his sister, E. Louise Petersen and her husband Tim of Lewiston, Maine; his six grandchildren, Chrystal Hartberg, Cameron Arrington, Candice Rogan, Joseph Rogan, Joshua Beddie, and Brittany Beddie, all of California; two great-grandchildren, Alexis Arrington and Hudson Beddie, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Lucchesi.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 14, at 1 p.m., in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson. There are no calling hours or services at the funeral home. Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
