Shrewsbury teams place first in regional DI competition

Shrewsbury – Two Shrewsbury Public School Destination Imagination (DI) teams placed first at the regional tournament in Monson March 6 and will go on to compete in the Destination Imagination state tournament March 28 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

Team members Thomas Shimer and Cecilia Karen and team manager Jennifer Shimer won first place in the Improv Games – Improv Challenge, Elementary Level. Team managers Eric Craft and Kosmos Karadimitriou led team members Nora Craft, Natalia Karadimitriou, Samantha Welch, Meher Gandhi, Anusha Loganathan and Prisha Singh to first place in Brand Aid – Service Learning, Middle Level.

The Destination Imagination program encourages teams of learners to have fun, take risks, focus and frame challenges while incorporating STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), the arts and service learning.
