North Grafton/Kennebunk, Maine – Eva C. (Bouvier) Bassett, 90, of Kennebunk, Maine, formerly of North Grafton, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015. Her husband, Chester Bassett, passed away in 1984.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Starbard; granddaughter Marisa Stam and her husband Aaron Stam; great-grandchildren Lucas and Lillian Stam; her brothers, Napoleon and Milton Amour; and many nieces and nephews. Her siblings, Evelyne, Shirley, Lillian, Clarence, Clifford, and baby brother Frederick, all predeceased her.
Eva was born in Grafton, daughter of the late Rosalma (Champaigne) and Peter Bouvier. She worked at Heald Manufacturing/Cincinnati Milacron for more than 20 years.
Eva had a strong work ethic and retirement couldn’t hold her back. She continued to work at Janette’s Women’s Clothing in Grafton and then at Walmart in Northborough, before relocating to Maine to be with her daughter.
Eva lived a beautiful life of love and grace, even in the most difficult times. She had a quick wit a mischievous smile.
Her family would like to share their gratitude for the loving care she received at Springbrook Center in Westbrook and at the Gosnell Hospice House in Scarborough.
All are invited to a funeral Mass for Eva Monday, March 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton, MA 01536. All attending the funeral Mass are politely requested to go directly to church. Burial will be private at her family’s convenience. There are no calling hours.
