Marlborough – Robert L. Cote, 92, of Marlborough, died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Marlborough Hills HealthCare Center.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Albert and Caroline “Lottie” (Wilmot) Cote and was the husband of Lucille (Arvisais) Cote. Mr. and Mrs. Cote would have celebrated their 71st anniversary April 19.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an Electricians Mate First Class, later returning to service during the Korean War. He was a member of the Naval Action Reserve.
He had been employed as an electrician for 30 years at the former Crompton Knowles Company before retiring in 1990 from Elkay Products in Shrewsbury.
Mr. Cote found pleasure caring for his home and sharing his life with his wife, family and friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Richard R. Cote and his wife Maria of Irving, Texas and Paul G. Cote of Worcester; his daughter, Elaine M. Johnson of Brattleboro, Vt.; his grandchildren, Christina and Catherine of Texas, Samantha of Worcester, and Alex M. of New Brunswick, N.J.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was also the grandfather of the late Dylan P. Johnson, who died in 1994, and the brother of the late George R. Cote, who died in 1968; Geraldine M. LeHane, who died in 2004; and Claire R. DiPilato ,who died in 2014.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, April 2, from 5-7 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough. A funeral service will be held Friday, April 3, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. An hour of visitation will be held prior to the service.
Burial will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beach Street, Marlborough.
