Obit Sylvia AndersonGrafton – Sylvia E. (Lessard) Anderson, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 after an illness. Her husband, Melvin J. Anderson, passed away in 1999.

Sylvia leaves her children, Paul Anderson and his wife Michelle, Deborah Anderson, Audrey Jolda, Steven Anderson, and Sandra Maillet and her husband Raymond; her brothers, Norman, Roland, Raymond, and Wilfred Lessard, and her sisters, Jacqueline Cesaitis, Louise Lenehan, Constance Nardone, and Pauline Lessard; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Anderson, and her brothers, Bernard, Conrad, Victor and Robert Lessard.

Sylvia was born Aug. 2, 1927 in Nashua, N.H., a daughter of the late Florence (Davis) and Elphege Lessard. She lived in Grafton for more than 50 years, and also lived briefly in Millbury and Worcester. She worked at Dapol Plastics, GE Telechron, Brown Shoe Company and Cornell Dublier in Worcester.

Closest to Sylvia throughout her life were her faith and family. She was a loyal parishioner at St. Mary’s in Grafton, singing in their choir for many years, and was happiest when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

All are invited to gather with Sylvia’s family and friends Monday, March 30, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest at St. Philip Cemetery in Grafton.
