Hudson – Marguerite R. (Sarkisian) Carlisle, 92, of Hudson, died Sunday, April 19, 2015, surrounded by her loving family, at the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence in Wayland. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Robert C. Carlisle, who died in 2001.

Marguerite was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Harry and Rose (Moradian) Sarkisian. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. She later graduated from the Framingham Business College.

She was a lifelong resident of Hudson, and was employed by Colonial Press in Clinton for many years and later the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard until her retirement in 1984. She was a lifelong member of Saint Luke’s Parish in Hudson and also sang in the choir for 30-plus years. She was a former volunteer with the Meals on Wheels program in Hudson and was a member of the Hudson Senior Center.

Marguerite enjoyed knitting, oil painting, and reading in her spare time, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and later her two great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her warm smile and infectious laugh.

She is survived by her three children, Clayton Carlisle and his wife Alice of Hudson, Steven Carlisle of Southbridge, and Laura Quinlan and her husband Joe of Clinton. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Main and her husband Ken of Michigan; three grandchildren, Keith Carlisle and his wife Doreen of Sturbridge and Jacqueline and Stephanie Quinlan of Clinton; and her two great-grandchildren, Roman and Finley Carlisle of Sturbridge, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Gloria Rogers and her husband John Rogers.

A funeral service will be celebrated Friday, April 24, at 10 a.m., in Saint Luke’s Church, 5 Washington St., Wood Square, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home of Hudson.
