Obit Josephine HaloShrewsbury – Josephine M. (Desimone) Halo, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015 in Saint Vincent Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis F. Halo, in 1970, and by their daughter, BarbaraLou, in 1944.

Jo, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends, is survived by a brother, Daniel Desimone in Texas; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all whom loved her very much. She was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Andrew and Rudolph Desimone, and Rose Oroszko.

She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Thomas and Margaret (Raia) Desimone, and had lived in this area all her life.

She was a quality control inspector for David Clark Company in Worcester, where she worked until she was 75. She was a member of Saint Anne Parish in Shrewsbury, and was very active in her community at the Shrewsbury Tower, where she treasured her many friends. Two of her passions in life included knitting and bingo.

Calling hours for Jo will be held Thursday, April 30, from 4-7 p.m., in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral will be held Friday, May 1 from the funeral home, with a procession to Saint Anne’s Church, 120 Boston Tpke. (Route 9), Shrewsbury, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
