Westborough – Julio’s Liquors will be hosting its 13th annual Spring Beer Fest Sunday, May 17 from 1- 4 p.m. The event will feature over 50 breweries and over 200 different beers to try.
One of the top rated beer stores in the country, Julio’s Liquors has been given a 5-star rating by RateBeer.com, and a 100 point rating by BeerAdvocate.com. Julio’s owner Ryan Maloney is excited to host the event.
“Beer lovers can come and enjoy an afternoon of fun, food and great beer,” said Maloney. “We will be showcasing some special releases as well as many of our favorite year-round beers.”
Souvenir tasting glasses will be available with a donation towards the Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB). The food bank is the region’s leading anti-hunger organization distributing 5.4 million pounds of donated food and grocery product to the hungry, which provides 4.5 million meals, and feeds nearly 104,500 people.
The list of confirmed breweries attending Julio’s Spring Beer Fest includes Harpoon, Jack’s Abby, Maine Beer Company, Pretty Things Beer & Ale Project, Sam Adams, and Shipyard, among others.
Julio’s will also be featuring Wormtown Brewery, based in Worcester. Wormtown was named Grand National Champion of the 2014 U.S. Open Beer Championship. Its beers include brews such as 7 Hills Session Pale Ale, Be Hoppy, and Worcester’s Bravest Wit, all of which give tribute to the city and boast local, fresh ingredients.
Another local brewery, Wachusett Brewing Company from Westminster, will be featured at the event. The brewery has been making distinct and delicious beers from the highest quality ingredients for over 20 years. Their Blueberry Ale, Green Monsta IPA and Nut Brown Ale are just some of their awarding winning unique brews.
The festival will also feature some great local foods to sample from Peppercorns Grille & Tavern, Crystal Brook Farm, Cat Tongue Hot Sauce, Savory Imports, Pioneer Bean Co, and Dom’s Sausage.
