Obit OLIVE L. QUARTULLIGrafton – Olive L. (Maynard) Quartulli, 91, passed away at home Wednesday, May 6, 2015.

She leaves her husband of 64 years, Armando Quartulli; her children, Susan A. Benson, Nancy M. Philbrook and her husband Barry, Rex M. Quartulli and his wife Terri; and daughter-in-law Paula Quartulli. She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda McGrath; her son, Bruce Quartulli; and her siblings, Joseph and Aura Maynard.

Olive was born Dec. 3, 1923 in Grafton, daughter of Aurore and Joseph Maynard. She graduated from Grafton High school in 1942 and remained a lifelong resident. She met the love of her life, Armando, in New York while she was serving in the Women Accepted For Voluntary Emergency Services (WAVES) and he was serving in the U.S. Navy. Their roots and family were established in Grafton, where they spent 64 happy years together.

She worked at Kartiganer Hat Shop in Upton and GE in Ashland for several years.

Her greatest joy was her large family around her kitchen table and in her home, especially during the holidays where many family traditions were started. She shared the gift of her creative talents both in knitting and in crocheting, as well as sewing beautiful wedding gowns for her daughters over the years.

Olive will be remembered as a gentle, kind soul whose generosity and love are now her legacy. She was a member of The Daughters of Isabella – St. Margaret Circle at St. James Parish in South Grafton where her funeral Mass will be celebrated.

All are invited to gather with her family and friends Monday, May 11, from 10:30 a.m. to12 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by her funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. James Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton, MA. She will then be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Grafton.
