She was born Feb. 21, 1926 in Worcester, daughter of the late Eva (Mousseau) and Joseph Bourassa. Anita was one of nine children.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Harold Tower of North Grafton. She is also survived by her son, Robert Tower and his wife Melissa of West Greenwich, R.I., and her son, Gerald of Northbridge. Her son, Ronald, predeceased her in 2004. She is survived by her grandchildren, Chad of W. Greenwich, R.I. and Rick of Hudson, as well as Eric and Patrick, both of Woonsocket, R.I.
Anita worked in the dietary department of the Grafton School District for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed needlework, such as knitting, crocheting, and tatting. She was an accomplished baker, whose cookies were well appreciated by many family and friends.
All are invited to gather with Anita’s family and friends Monday, May 11, from 4-7 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 12, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Grafton.
