Westborough – The public is invited to participate in the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post Annual Golf Classic which will be held this year, on Monday, June 8, at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club in West Boylston.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the VFW Post 9013 Building Fund.
The VFW’s current building, located at 9A Milk St., which the group has used for over 50 years, is insufficient to meet the needs of the town’s and surrounding veteran population, the post’s members said. The building needs improvement to the structure and equipment and improved handicap accessibility
The VFW serves not only as a place to socialize but also as a resource for family members who need help when a loved one is deployed.
The hope, officials said, is to someday have adequate funding to either expand the current building or more to a new facility.
The June 8 golf tournament will be “Florida Style” shotgun start at 1 p.m. and includes play on 18 holes, a cart, buffet dinner and raffles and prizes from local businesses. The cost is $100 per person to play; additional dinner tickets may also be purchased for $30. The group is also seeking business sponsors to provide raffle prizes and tee box signs at $100.

Applications may also be picked up at the post. Leave your email address and they will be forward the Golf Sign-Up Form and the Sponsor Letter.
