Region – The Webster Five Foundation announced that, as part of its Web of Caring to Make a Difference program, it will donate $1,500 to the Community Harvest Project. The donation will support the growth and donation of an estimated 260,000 pounds of food to those in need.
“Webster Five is glad to have an organization such as the Community Harvest Project taking care of the widespread issue of hunger on a local level,” Webster Five’s President and CEO said. “We are happy to support their cause.”
The Community Harvest Project works with over 10,000 volunteers to grow and donate fresh produce through hands-on work on the 16.5 acres of farming land, increase awareness of hunger in the community, and provide nutrition education. Through partnerships with hunger relief agencies, the Community Harvest Project is able to effectively supply Worcester County citizens in need. Webster Five’s donation will fund general operating support for the various implemented programs.
