Author and domestic violence survivor to be featured artist at Literary Arts Open Mic event

Westborough – Barbara Joy Hansen will be the featured artist at the Literary Arts Open Mic at Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery & Cafe, Thursday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m.

Hansen is an international speaker and the author of “Listen to the Cry of the Child – the Deafening Silence of Child Abuse.” She is a domestic violence survivor of childhood incest, preteen crime, and infidelity and now works to help others recover from similar situations.

She is also a facilitator of Beauty of Ashes support group, and an advocate of the Coalition of Prison Evangelists Chaplain.

Her story has been featured on various television and radio talk shows including the Boston Globe, MetroWest News, Milford Daily News and Hopkinton Crier. Hansen has received attention from Montel Williams, Dr. Phil, Steve Harvey and Oprah Winfrey producers.
