Hudson – Sophia Ann (Wolik) Pimentel, 89, of Hudson, died on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Marlborough Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 67 years to the late Anthony J. “Tony” Pimentel, who died in February 2014.

Sophia was born and raised in Maynard, daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Macora) Wolik. She attended local schools until the 10th grade when she left school to assist in the raising of her younger siblings after her mother’s untimely death at a young age. She had resided in Hudson for almost 60 years and took great pride in the care of her home. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson.

Sophia enjoyed cooking and gardening in her spare time. She always looked forward to giving her time as a volunteer along with her husband for many of the Hudson V.F.W. events yearly. Her passion in life was dancing, especially with her husband Tony. Both Sophia and Tony were well known as accomplished dancers and they often “cleared the dance floor” as other dancers would appreciate the wonderful couple’s talent together. She was full of life and brought joy to many folks who loved her. She will always be remembered and loved.

She is survived by her two brothers, Chester Wolik of Ledyard, Conn. and Henry Wolik and his wife Marie of Shrewsbury. She was the sister of the late Frances Kostopolus and Frank Wolik. She also leaves her nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly, and her friends she cherished.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 30, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery of Hudson. A calling hour will be held from 7:45-8:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, prior to the Mass.
