Shrewsbury – Senior citizens who are alumni of the Calvin Coolidge Elementary School recently visited the school to meet with current fourth graders. The alumni answered questions about what it was like when they attended the school and talked about the different grades the school housed at various times.
Lowell Crouse graduated from Coolidge School in 1939, Lucy Hastings Ward, whose mother, “Ma Hastings,” was the cafeteria manager at Coolidge for 30 years, completed the ninth grade at Coolidge in 1942, and Christine Mattero Betti attended fifth and sixth grades at Coolidge School. The special guests posed for a photo with some of the fourth graders, including Christine Betti’s great-grandson, Dominic Betti.
The visit was recorded by students Abigail Bell and Siddharth Pasupuleti.
