Claudette L. Lorden, 50, of Grafton

96

Obit Claudette L. LordenGrafton – Claudette L. (Joncas) Lorden, 50, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 8, 2015 after a brave struggle with cancer.

Claudette leaves her husband of 22 years, Sean P. Lorden; her children, Patrick, Ryan and Kelsey Lorden; her parents, Carol and Leo Joncas, and mother-in-law Susan Lorden; her sister, Nichole McDonald and her husband Brian; her brothers, Peter “PJ” Joncas and James “Jimmy” Joncas and his wife Marea; and her nieces and nephews, Evan and Blake McDonald and Maxwell, Carlee and Jackie Joncas. She also leaves her beloved dogs, Maverick and Monty.

Claudette was born June 24, 1964 in Worcester. Her roots were in Grafton, where she grew up and raised her family. For 10 years, she worked at Stratus in Hudson, and more recently worked part-time at Danielle’s Pub in North Grafton where she became known as “Warden Lorden.”

Away from work, Claudette was happiest with her husband Sean and three children. She was a proud “hockey Mom” as her sons and daughter all played for many years growing up, and she became like a “second Mom” to so many kids in her neighborhood.

Claudette prized the time she spent away with her family on the Maine seacoast, visiting National Parks in the West and especially at Lake Powell in Utah, where her family and others would vacation renting houseboats. Holidays at home were also one of her great joys, Easter breakfast and an annual tradition of Thanksgiving breakfast before Grafton’s football game that began many years ago became an event the entire family, and many friends always looked forward to being a part of.

On a quiet afternoon you were likely to find Claudette in her backyard planting flowers or growing vegetables or sitting in her gazebo alongside her dogs with a favorite book.

In her memory, please honor Claudette with donations to the Claudette Joncas Lorden Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Homefield Credit Union, 86 Worcester St., North Grafton, MA 01536.

All are invited to gather with Claudette’s family and friends Friday, June 12, from 4-8 p.m., followed by a remembrance service at 8 p.m. at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton.
