Obit Berji TorresWestborough – Berji (Ohan) Torres, 87, died peacefully Thursday, June 11, 2015 after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Luis F. Torres.

Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Mike and Zabel (Shemsy) Ohan. She was educated in Cambridge schools and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School. She has been a resident of Westborough since 1973, and was a former member of the Writers Bloc.

Berji was an avid writer of short stories and a talented artist.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, James L. Torres and his wife Suzanne of Easton, Conn.; two daughters, Julie M. Torres of Westborough and Susan J. (Torres) Fontes of Scituate; and one sister, Julia Webb of Westerley, R.I. Her spirit lives on eternally through her seven grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be held Monday, June 15, at 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, June 14, from 2-5 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
