Phillip A. WissellGrafton – Phillip A. Wissell, 63, of Grafton, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester.

A dedicated applications engineer with Integrated Device Technology for the past decade, Phil had a lifelong career in electrical engineering. Prior to IDT, he held positions with AT&T, Lucent, Tellabs, and Axiowave.

Passionate about education, he received degrees from SUNY Potsdam, SUNY Stony Brook, and the University of Arizona, and completed coursework at Dartmouth College, Columbia University, and the Stevens Institute of Technology. He was also a passionate audiophile. His family, music, his cats, and the Catskill Mountains in New York were his greatest joys.

A gentle, generous man, Phil enjoyed the quirky in life and was committed to doing things well, always. He admired quality workmanship wherever it presented itself.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen; his daughter, Tess; his mother, Jeanette; his siblings Steve and Eileen; and extended family in the Catskills.

A memorial gathering will take place Saturday, June 13, from 3-5 p.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, MA 01536.
