Marlborough – Summer is almost here and the sun will be shining bright. So here’s a reminder that exposure to ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun and indoor tanning can be dangerous to the skin. Exposure is the cause of melanoma, the deadliest kind of skin cancer and on the rise. To lower risk of skin cancer, protect your skin from the sun by staying in the shade during midday hours, use sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher and avoid indoor tanning.

For more information on protecting your skin from exposure to UV look on http://www.marlborough-ma.gov/Gen/MarlboroughMA_BoardHealth/index seasonal tab.
