Southborough – “Southborough in the ‘70s: From Cows to Computers,” is now available for residents to view on Southborough Media Access (SAM) and Youtube. The presentation is by Southborough resident Donna McDaniel, a WATCH journalist, author, and historian.

McDaniel moved to Southborough as the ‘70s began. As a reporter for the then-Middlesex News, she was intrigued by changes in the town and by the many dedicated townspeople who had the foresight to prepare for the future with careful zoning, updated public works systems, additional human services, and especially by building and re-organizing schools. In this presentation, which was taped at the Southborough Library in May, she shares her research and observations on a difficult and remarkable decade. The presentation can also be viewed at http://youtu.be/b1mqbY8l-mA.

Her research for the program and broadcasts on SAM are supported by a grant from the Southborough Cultural Arts Council, a local agency supported by the state agency Massachusetts Cultural Council.
