Obit Herbert L. TherrienGrafton – Herbert L. Therrien, 99, died Monday, June 15, 2015 in Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge.

He leaves his wife of 75 years, Harriet Cahill Therrien; three sons, William and his wife Claudia of Mendon, David and his wife Nancy, and Herbert (Terry); and a daughter, Kathleen Malmquist, all of Grafton. He leaves three sisters, Mildred “Millie” Pallie of Grafton, Marcela Greene of Auburn, and Violet Stuart of Uxbridge; 14 grandchildren, Christopher Plante, Elizabeth Fessenden, Joel and Jon Therrien, Jenifer Langley, Michael and Laura Therrien, Rodney, Amy, Raymond, Matthew and Jaelyn Malmquist, and Farley Nishanian; 19 great-grandchildren, Kevin Therrien, Jacob, Noah and Emma Plante, Cora and Grayson Fessenden, Freya and Averon Langley, Alex, Bryan and Cayla Therrien, Jordan, Isaac and Canaan Therrien, Danielle Therrien, Cori, Ryan and Jessica Malmquist, and Hope Lloyd; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Diane Plante.

He was born Feb. 5, 1916 in Quincy, the son of Henry James Theirrien and Lucy Donais. He attended the Grafton school system until the seventh grade. After leaving school, he worked at many jobs before joining Bay State Abrasive Company. He spent 35 years as a welder at Bay state Abrasive retiring in 1980.

He enjoyed camping and woodworking, and spending time with his family.

All are invited to gather with Herbert’s family Monday, June 22, from 9:30-11 a.m., at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
