Shrewsbury/Westborough – Newly elected State Representative Hannah Kane will host her inaugural charity golf tournament Monday, August 17, at The Haven Country Club in Boylston. Kane will carry forth the important fundraising traditions of her predecessors, former state representatives Karyn Polito, currently lieutenant governor, and recently appointed Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Matt Beaton.

Representative Kane and her committee, led by Tournament Director Beth Casavant, are excited to welcome the many sponsors who strongly support service and giving back to one’s community.

“Service to others has always been a driving force in my life, ingrained in me by my parents and grandparents,” Kane said. “The opportunity to have a greater impact on the lives of others is one of the primary reasons I sought this office, and I am excited to announce the inaugural Hannah Kane Charity Classic.”

Representative Kane has chosen to support three vital human service agencies: St. Anne’s Human Services; Shrewsbury Youth and Family Services; and the Westborough Food Pantry.

The Hannah Kane Charity Classic will begin with a continental breakfast during registration prior to the 10:30 a.m. bramble-style tournament and features a BBQ luncheon served on the golf course and a 19th Hole Reception with a buffet and cash bar. Those individuals who are unable to participate in golfing but wish to support the event are invited to attend the 19th Hole Reception which begins at approximately 3:30 p.m., and includes silent and live auctions and a raffle. Tickets for the 19th Hole Reception are $60 per person.

Sponsors include: Presenting Sponsor – the Gene J. DeFeudis Family Foundation; Leader Board – Carlstrom Pressed Metal, Dunkin Donuts, Hair-Lines for Paul Mitchell Systems, Metso and Wheelabrator Shrewsbury; Hole In One – Cornerstone Energy Services and Grossman Development Group; Eagle Sponsor – Digital Federal Credit Union, Nardella Realty Company and Shrewsbury Federal Credit Union; Birdie Sponsors – Beals and Thomas, Bowditch & Dewey, Mirick O’Connell, R.J. Shepherd Co., TD Bank, Wachusett Mountain, The Willows at Westborough and Webster Five Cents Savings Bank. The Polito Development Corporation is sponsoring the BBQ Lunch. The 19th Hole Reception sponsor is Central One Federal Credit Union and the Thank-You Gift Sponsor is Robert “Chief Joseph” Terkanian of Hair-Lines for Paul Mitchell Systems, as well as Wheelabrator Shrewsbury.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available and auction and raffle items are needed. For more information contact Tournament Director Beth Casavant at 508-641-8174 or [email protected] or visit www.rephannahkane.com.
