Rivard is honored by Notre Dame Academy

Shrewsbury – Emily Rivard was recently honored by Notre Dame Academy with a number of awards including the Theta Award, which recognizes that senior who has developed her mathematical ability and who has been willing to share this ability by peer tutoring and the Patricia J. Mulford Award, which is presented to a student who has shown enthusiasm for and achievement in her science courses and who plans a career in some field of science.

Rivard also received the American Association of Physics Teachers Award, the Physics Medal given by the National Science League, the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association Award for excellence in the study of Spanish and the Telegram and Gazette Student Achiever Award. Rivard was also presented with the Sr. Mary Augusta Award for her wide understanding of issues confronting societies in our modern world and the Academy’s Foundress Award.

Rivard is the daughter of Joanne and Timothy Rivard of Shrewsbury. She will be studying pre-med at the College of the Holy Cross this fall.
