    School: Saint John’s High School

    Sport: Baseball

    Class: 2015

    Coach: Charlie Eppinger

Notable stats: Second on the team in hitting, batting .368 with 2 home runs on the season.

What are your earliest baseball related memories?

“My earliest baseball related memories are when I played Little League. I played shortstop as a lefty.”

Which friend or family member encouraged you to first get into baseball, and succeed at it?

“My whole family has supported me through the years, and has encouraged me to succeed, but my father has been by my side the entire way. He’s never missed a game.”

What was it like to be a part of this year’s Saint John’s squad?

“Being a part of this year’s team was something special. We have a great group of guys that work hard, but at the same time, we know how to have fun. We found ways to win games, and everyone had their own unique role.”

What has been the single most-special game during your time at Saint John’s?

“The single most special game that I have ever been a part of at SJ was my first of two walk-off hits this season against BC High. Our entire team battled hard the entire game as we came back from being down the entire game. The game was on the line as it was tied with a man on third. I just went with the pitch and hit it right back up the middle to drive in the winning run. It was the first game in which I made that big of a contribution towards getting the win. I had never had a feeling like that ever before.”

Who is your favorite MLB team, and player?

“My favorite MLB team is no doubt the Red Sox. My favorite player is Dustin Pedroia because he will do anything in his power to make a play and get a win.”

What is your favorite class in school, and why?

“My favorite class in school is physics, because I enjoy problem solving.”

What is your favorite kind of music, and artist in that genre?

“My favorite type of music is definitely country, and I enjoy Florida Georgia Line.”

What are your hobbies outside of baseball?

“Aside from baseball, I also played football at SJ. I enjoy skiing in the winter and fishing in the summer.”

Have you decided on a college yet, and will you be playing baseball at that level?

“I will be playing baseball at Saint Lawrence University in New York starting this fall.”

What kind of legacy do you hope to leave behind at Saint John’s?

“As I leave SJ, I hope to have done everything possible to make an impact on the underclassmen, both on the field and in the classroom.”
