Northborough – The Applefest Committee is now planning the 2015 Applefest Celebration, which will be held throughout the town Friday, Sept. 18 through Sunday, Sept. 20. This will be the event’s 25th year. Nominations are now being accepted for the parade’s Grand Marshal, according to the committee’s chairperson, Michelle Gillespie.
“Please consider nominating a Northborough resident who you feel has given back to the community through volunteering of their times and talents, “she said.
Residents may send their nominations to Applefest Inc., P.O. Box 216, Northborough, MA 01532 or email [email protected]. Please state the nominee’s name, your name and address and the reason you are nominating that person.
Nominations are due by Friday, Aug. 14.
Applefest is a volunteer-run event, relying on donations from residents and local businesses. Some of the events besides the parade will include the Apple Pie Café, 5k Road Race, Farmers Market, Applefest Bake-off and Luncheon and much more.
