Food truck festival comes to Marlborough


Marlborough – Mayor Arthur Vigeant has announced that the city of Marlborough is hosting its first Food Truck Festival Saturday, Aug. 15, from 12 to 5 p.m.

The city of Marlborough and Food Truck Festivals of New England (FTFNE) are collaborating to provide Marlborough residents with the opportunity to sample and enjoy gourmet food from the region’s best food trucks right in downtown Marlborough. FTFNE is helping to support the small business owners that run them and is hoping to strengthen the industry by creating a New England tradition for years to come.

“I’m excited to help bring our first Food Truck Festival to Marlborough. It’ll bring our residents together to enjoy downtown Marlborough and it is also a great way to show off our downtown to visitors from around the state,” said Vigeant.

The festival will host 20 different trucks with various assortments of food, ranging from French, Turkish, and Vietnamese cuisine to seafood, salads, and bacon-filled sandwiches. Some of the trucks scheduled to appear include the Bacon Truck, the Dining Car, Trolley Dogs, Batch Ice Cream, Whoo(pie) Wagon, Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Uygher Kitchen, Plouf Plouf Gastonomie, Shuckin’ Truck and Bon Me.

The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 12 -5 p.m. in the municipal parking lot on the corner of Granger Boulevard and Route 85. Tickets are on sale for $5 for general admission and children under 12 are free. There is a limited amount of tickets available, so attendees are encouraged to buy them online beforehand at Tickets will be sold at the door on a first come, first served basis. Attendees also have the option of buying a general admission ticket with one Samuel Adams beer for $10. Food and drink are purchased separately.

A special VIP Hour is also being held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for which tickets cost $20. This includes early access, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, one free dessert from Whoo(pie) Wagon and a Food Truck Festivals of America koozie.
