Four injured in two vehicle accident in Shrewsbury

MVA 8171-1Shrewsbury – The Shrewsbury Fire Department released this statement this evening regarding an accident on Hartford Turnpike-

On Monday August 17, 2015 at 1700 hours, the Shrewsbury Fire Department, along with Shrewsbury Police and Worcester EMS, were dispatched to the area of 845 Hartford Turnpike for a report of a 2 car motor vehicle accident with reported rollover and entrapment. Upon the arrival of the Shrewsbury Police Department, it was confirmed that one occupant was entrapped and required extrication.

Members from the Shrewsbury Fire Department used extrication equipment to free the victim. Paramedics from Worcester EMS transported four patients by ambulance to UMass Memorial Medical Center- University Campus in Worcester.

Route 20 remained closed until all fire and police units cleared the scene at 2039 hours.

The accident is being investigated by the Shrewsbury Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit.
