Worcester – Marie L. Yankee, 96, formerly of Centerville and Westborough, passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at the Dodge Park Rest Home in Worcester. She was the wife of the late Deane K. Yankee.

Born in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Bingham) Clapp. She was educated in Norwood schools and was a graduate of Norwood High School.

She was a homemaker dedicated to her home and family and enjoyed the beach and spending time on Cape Cod.

Marie is survived by two sons, Deane K. Yankee Jr. and his wife Peggy of Westborough and Kenneth A. Yankee and his wife Paula of Shrewsbury; one sister, Priscilla Haverly of Walpole; three grandchildren, Kim, Ken Jr., and John; four great-grandchildren, Samantha, Alysa, Jack, and Layla; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John Clapp and Virginia Clapp.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m., in St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 3 John St., Westborough. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
