Westborough – The Congregational Church of Westborough and the American Red Cross are teaming up to host a second blood drive in honor of Corinne Sciarappa Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the church, 57 W. Main St.
Since the May blood drive, the Westborough teen has received a total of nine units of blood and eight units of platelets as part of her cancer treatment.
“To our family it was particularly uplifting to see such a phenomenal turnout for the drive in May because a blood donation can help so many people, not just our Corinne,” said her mother Pauline Sciarappa. “Each day when we are in the Jimmy Fund Clinic or Children’s Hospital, we encounter many other children who are also getting transfusions regularly.”
Appointments are preferred. To schedule, visit redcrossblood.org (sponsor code “Corinne”) or call 800-RedCross. To volunteer at the drive, email [email protected]. Donations of baked goods would also be appreciated.
