Westborough -Police Chief Alan Gordon released this statement this morning:
On 9/15/15, at approximately 9:04 PM, the Westborough Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle crash on Rte.9 at Longmeadow Rd. The arriving units found 4 vehicles that had been involved. The first vehicle was a 2014 Toyota with heavy front end damage. The operator, Teresa M. Meltzer, age 61 of 46 Wilbur Dr. Ashland was still inside the vehicle with a serious head injury. She was treated by Paramedics from the Westborough Fire Dept. and transported to U. Mass. Medical University Hospital.
The second vehicle was a 2015 Ford SUV which was owned by the Southborough Police Department. The vehicle was being operated by Officer John Woodford, age 32. He was treated at the scene by the Southborough Fire Dept. and was transported to Marlborough Hospital for an evaluation.
Two unoccupied vehicles, the first being a 2014 Mazda owned by Matthew Teto of Athol and the second being 2008 Ford Pickup owned by DL Peterson Trust of Sparks MD. were also involved in the collision.
The Mass State Police accident reconstruction team was dispatched and are investigating the crash.
