Obit Janice SklutShrewsbury – Our lovely wife and mother passed on to a better place Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, surrounded by family, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester after a long battle with respiratory disease. She was 76.

Janice B. Sklut was born April 24, 1939 at home in West Boylston to Alexander and Eleanor (Stratton) Rindfleisch. She grew up in a small house with her parents and seven siblings. In November 1958, she married Glenn D. Sklut of Shrewsbury at St. Anne’s Church in Shrewsbury. They lived in Alexandria, Va. for a short time before returning home and settling in Shrewsbury, where they raised their four children.

Janice was a homemaker for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and many were blessed with quilts, curtains, clothing, and other treasures. After her children were grown, she worked at the Westborough District Court before retiring.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Glenn Sklut; her children and their spouses, Daniel and Pamela Sklut of Dunbarton, N.H., Wendy and Gary Adamovich of Shrewsbury, Lori and Richard Wall of Sanford, Maine and Carrie and Alan Bruss of Holden. She was very proud of her eight grandchildren, Jason Falamino, Samuel Adamovich, Mark Sklut, Brian Sklut, Stephanie Wall, Stephen Wall, Nicholas Wall, and Alexander Wall. She also leaves behind her loving siblings, Joan Lane of West Boylston and June Thiboutot of Auburn, and brother Robert Rindfleisch of Leominster, and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and siblings, Michael, Richard, and Howard Rindfleisch and Jane Lind.

Family and friends will honor and remember Janice’s life by gathering for calling hours Friday, Sept. 18, from 5-8 p.m., at Heald & Chiampa Funeral Directors ~ The Sumner House, 5 Church Road, On the Common, Shrewsbury Center, and again on Saturday morning, Sept. 19, before leaving in procession to Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Tpke., Shrewsbury, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
