    To the Editor:

Northborough Helping Hands Association, Inc. (NHHA) recently donated 156 backpacks to students in need attending Northborough Public Schools. Students received a new backpack as well as school supplies needed to start their new school year.

The drive’s success is attributed to the outstanding community support the effort receives each year. The following businesses, organizations and individuals made it possible for the goal of the drive to be met for the 2015-2016 school year: Cumberland Farms, Dixon General Contracting, HP-Southborough, L Boutique LLC, Jennifer MacNeil Photography, Marlborough Savings Bank – Northborough, Saint Rose of Lima, Shrewsbury Farmer’s Market, Staples Foundation 2 Million and Change, Worcester Bravehearts, Sherry Clark, Fortier Family, Michalik Family, Nault Family, Nolan Family, Oyola Family, Powley Family, Revell Family, Ruthann Rizzi, Santella Family, Tucker Family and Zelnick Family.

A special thank you to Lincoln Street Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), Robert E. Melican Middle School PTO, and Marguerite E. Peaslee School PTO. These organizations worked with us and their new school supply kit program to ensure the supply needs were met for the student recipients through our program.

NHHA has a medical equipment loan program, holiday outreach program and emergency funds to help those in need. If you would like to learn how you or your organization can help with next year’s backpack drive, please email [email protected]. Donations can be sent to P.O. Box 383; Northborough, MA 01532. All information can be found on the new website at www.northboroughhelpinghands.org.
