Hudson – Antonio N. Pinto, 82, of Hudson, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015. He was the beloved son of the late Alberto and Joaquina Pinto of Serraquinhos, Portugal.
Antonio emigrated from Portugal to Hudson in 1959 to follow his love, Joaquina, and they were soon married in Hudson where they raised two children, Eliza and Antonio Jr. After retiring, Antonio would spend his winters in Naples, Fla. with Joaquina, enjoying his time at the beach with family and friends. While in Hudson, he would enjoy gardening, making wine and having the entire family gather at his house.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Joaquina (married 55 years); daughter Eliza and her children, Joshua and Stephanie Pereira; and son Antonio his wife Cristina and their children, Samuel and Daniel Pinto. He also leaves a brother, Joao and his family, in Portugal, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 9 a.m., in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning St., Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held Monday, Sept. 28, from 5-8 p.m., at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St.
