Westborough – Julio’s Liquors has announced that Toni DeLuca will be joining its team as wine director, bringing with her many years of experience from her travels studying wine in various regions across the world.

A Massachusetts native, DeLuca received her bachelor of science degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., and then moved to Virginia in order to pursue a career with the federal government. While working for the U.S. Department of Justice, she worked part-time in the tasting room at Chrysalis Vineyards, a local winery in northern Virginia. The unique experience motivated her to pursue an education in winemaking full-time.

She began traveling, obtaining employment as a cellar worker and harvest assistant at wineries in France, New Zealand and Sonoma, Calif. Upon moving back to Massachusetts, she worked in a variety of retail capacities including employment as a wine consultant for a major retail chain. DeLuca is also a certified Specialist of Wine, Advanced Wine and Spirits Education Trust recipient, and a Certified Sommelier.

“We are very happy to bring Toni on as a member of our team here at Julio’s Liquors,” said Julio’s owner, Ryan Maloney. “I know that her impressive achievements and experiences will only add to our ongoing efforts to educate our patrons and community about the fascinating world of wine.”

For more information about the Julio’s wine department, or to learn about the store’s event and class offerings, visit www.juliosliquors.com or call 508- 366-1942. The store is located at 140 Turnpike Rd.
