Westborough – Representative Carolyn Dykema, D-Holliston, and Westborough Democrats will be discussing honeybees and other environmental issues Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. at Tatnuck Booksellers, 18 Lyman St., Westborough.

Honeybee colonies are dying or disappearing at an alarming rate. This hive loss is expected to have an impact on pollination and ultimately the food supply.

“Hive loss is just one of many environmental issues that can have an impact on our quality of life,” said Kate Donaghue, chair of the Westborough Democratic Town Committee. “Rep. Dykema has been active in this area for years and has been a leader in these issues as our representative at the State House.”

Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity for informal discussion with Rep. Dykema and members of the Democratic Town Committee.

“In addition to the presentation, we’ll be informally discussing presidential campaigns,” Donaghue said. “If people are interested in getting involved, please come to the event. Campaigns are a fun way to make a difference and to meet people who share similar values.”

The Westborough Democratic Town Committee normally meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Tatnuck Booksellers. For more information on the meeting or the committee, contact Donaghue at [email protected] or 508-404-8531.
